“It’s important for EMC to step up when disaster strikes in the communities where we live, work and do business. But our commitment to helping those in need and improving lives extends beyond our business, and even our borders,” said EMC President and CEO Scott Jean. “We are humbled to support our fellow Iowans in their moment of grief and loss from the storm. And while doing so, can’t ignore the immense heartache that millions of Ukrainian people are currently experiencing across the globe.”
The Greater Madison County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, promotes a culture of giving and investing in Madison County for the benefit of its people. The Disaster Recovery Fund was established to immediately begin addressing the economic needs and health challenges of those affected by the tornado. The long-term application of the fund will focus on additional needs that are not met by existing non-profit, local, state and federal programs.
The International Committee of the Red Cross is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.
