EMC Named Title Sponsor for the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards

DES MOINES, Iowa, May 10, 2019—EMC Insurance Companies is the title sponsor for the second consecutive year for the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards (IHSMTA) program, which celebrates the achievements of students involved in high school musicals across the state.

Each year, more than 5,000 students are impacted through the IHSMTA program, a year-long signature Des Moines Performing Arts (DMPA) community initiative. The program focuses on enhancing the talents of high school thespians and their schools’ theater programs, while providing a platform for recognition. The IHSMTA program launched in 2013 with nine Central Iowa schools participating. It has since grown to serve 77 Iowa high schools.

The IHSMTA will be held at the Des Moines Civic Center on Monday, June 3, 2019. Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at DMPA.org, the Civic Center Ticket Office and by phone at 515-246-2300.
