Commercial Property
With a commercial property policy, your building, business personal property and the personal property of others is covered. In order to insure your building to value, EMC provides commercial property valuations.
Business personal property coverage includes (but is not limited to):
- Furniture and fixtures
- Machinery and equipment
- Stock
- All other personal property owned and used in the business
- Labor
- Materials or services furnished or arranged on personal property of others
- Leased personal property that an owner has a contractual responsibility to insure
Personal property of others coverage provides protection for owners that ordinarily hold property for the benefit of both parties, such as dry cleaners or processing firms. If the property being held is damaged or destroyed, protection is available subject to policy terms.
While protected under EMC’s commercial property policy, policyholders also have Loss Control services available to help prevent damage or loss.
For more information on commercial insurance, contact your independent insurance agent or local EMC branch office.

As an owner of large commercial operations, your business is unique and, in
turn, requires unique insurance coverage. EMC’s commercial output program
(COP) provides large sized businesses with commercial property insurance.
The COP is perfect for those businesses that don’t qualify for other EMC commercial property programs since it provides broader eligibility. Operations with multiple locations can benefit from this program as well. The COP provides extended coverages to meet your business needs including inland marine protection. Through a flexible rating approach specifically designed for this size of business, EMC offers quality coverage at reasonable premiums.
Inland Marine
It’s hard to think of a business that doesn’t use transportation or
communication as a part of its every day operations. In fact, these two
activities are essential in maintaining the profitability and success of a business.
Inland marine insurance provides coverage for property that is mobile, involved in communication or transportation, or in the temporary custody of others. If such products are damaged or destroyed while in transit, the inland marine policy protects the business from financial loss, subject to policy terms.
Examples of coverages available are:
- Accounts receivable
- Valuable papers
- Fine art
- Signs
