Police Radio On Internet

A recent report of an individual using his laptop to listen to a live feed of local dispatchers has caused some officials in the South Carolina law enforcement community to take note. The internet site, scanamerica.us , streams a number of public radio channels, including those used by police and EMS. Scanners have been widely available for years. This tool is neither new nor illegal. However, the web gives a new level of mobility and easy access to police scanners to a larger number of people.
